About Course

Welcome to the GMS HealthCare Bloodborne Pathogens Course! This course is designed to meet OSHA guidelines as outlined in the ‘Bloodborne Pathogens Standard’ (29 CFR 1910.1030).

It’s perfect for anyone who needs OSHA-compliant training, including healthcare providers, tattoo artists, teachers, daycare workers, housekeeping staff, and general workplace employees.

In this course, you’ll learn how to protect yourself and others if you’re exposed to blood or other potentially infectious materials (OPIM) at work.

We’ll cover:
– What bloodborne pathogens (BBPs) are
– How BBPs are transmitted
– How to protect yourself from exposure
– What to do if you’re exposed
– How to clean an infected area
– How to report an incident, following your company’s *exposure control plan.

*Your company’s exposure control plan is a written plan to reduce or eliminate exposure to BBPs. It’s required by OSHA, so be sure to ask your employer where you can find the specific details for your workplace.
